Blockchain Is Infrastructure
A blockchain is a shared system for recording ownership, events and agreed rules. Cryptocurrency is one use of that infrastructure, not the entire purpose of it.
The shopping-centre picture
Think of blockchain as a large shopping centre. A token or exchange may be one shop inside it. Other shops can handle records, identity proofs, ownership, agreements, tickets, games, loyalty, supply-chain evidence and many other services.
What makes it different
Participants can independently verify the shared record. Digital signatures prove who approved an action, and agreed network rules determine which state is accepted.
The useful question
Do not begin by asking which token to create. Begin by asking which parties need to verify the same ownership, event or commitment without depending entirely on one operator.
